Bismuth classification:

• Type I: spreading of the tumor is slightly below the union of the ductus hepaticus dx. et sin.
• Type II: union of hepatic ducts is affected
• Type IIIa and IIIb: Spreading into the right or left main branch of ductus hepaticus
• Type IV: the tumor affects both main branches of ductus hepaticus
